About Jessiman A. Doka
Jessiman Doka brought light to every room she entered, touching countless lives with her radiant smile and generous spirit. As a skilled electrician for over 30 years, she not only brightened homes with her technical expertise but also with her infectious laughter and willingness to help anyone in need. Jessiman's true joy came from bringing people together, and her legendary backyard barbecues became a cherished tradition where friends, family, and neighbors would gather to share stories, enjoy her famous ribs, and bask in her warm hospitality. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel special and welcomed, creating a community of love that will carry on her legacy. Jessiman's kindness, strength, and ability to find joy in life's simple moments will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born in Mutare, Zimbabwe, to Selina and Freddie Doka, Jessiman carried the warmth of her homeland throughout her life. As a skilled electrician for over 30 years, she not only brightened homes with her expertise but also with her laughter and kindness.
Her greatest joy was bringing people together. Her legendary backyard barbecues were filled with love, laughter, and her famous ribs, creating cherished memories for all who attended. Jessiman had a rare gift for making everyone feel special, leaving a legacy of community and love.
Jessiman pursued vocational apprenticeship training from July 10, 1989, to July 10, 1993, specializing as an Electrician. Upon completing her training, she was assigned to the Substation Maintenance Depot as an Electrical Fitter. Over the course of her career, she contributed to various departments, including the Incidents Management Systems (IMS), Inspection Depot, Drawing Office, and ultimately the Waterfalls Depot. Jessiman's dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the organization.
Jessiman departed this world on January 14, 2025, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA, after a brief battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her mother Selina, siblings Samuel and Tanya, her nephews Takudzwa and Tatenda, and her niece Kuda. Jessiman's kindness, strength, and ability to find joy in simple moments will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Jessimen's favorite food spot in the USA was Jessie’s Seafood at the Wharf in Washington, DC, where she never missed the chance to enjoy her beloved prawns.
Enjoyed the World Around Her
Jessiman had a calm presence that allowed her to soak the world around her with curiosity and love. Here she is pictured on a roadtrip to Durban, South Africa in 2009.

Jeessiman cherished time with her nephews, Takudzwa and Tatenda (left to right). She enjoyed treating them to Nandos as children. Her love knew limits as she was always there to help and support others.
